KITs

Jointly developed by IBC and Good Woodworking Magazine Technical Editor Andy King, these striking knives are premium quality tools without the high price tag. The Regular Striking Knife is ideally suited to general layout work and the marking of shoulder lines while the Fine Striking Knife is ideally suited to the marking of dovetail joints. Once struck the marked line is used as a register for the chisel or saw to ensure the cutting of accurate joints.

  • Both knives feature a finely machined arrow head blade made from IBC's unique high vanadium AISI A2 tool steel.

  • A single side duel 25 degree bevel angled at 55 degrees make them ideal for left or right handed use.

  • The blades are hardened to 58-60 Rc with a double temper and cryogenically treated to ensure the ultimate in edge retention.

  • The handles are turned to an ergonomic profile from selected American Black Walnut.

  • Regular striking knife total length: 7.325”

Excellent tool

Having used a marking knife for the first time, I can’t see myself ever going back to a pencil, at least not for fine work where precise marking is required. I would recommend this product for anyone who wants to improve their precision in marking their work!
